Low-Level Firmware & Real-Time Systems | Full Product Lifecycle Leadership
25+ years of combined industrial and academic experience architecting embedded platforms โ from bare-metal drivers and RTOS to cloud-connected IoT products. PhD in IoT/WSN research with a track record of taking products from concept to commercial launch.
Embedded Systems Engineer with over 25 years of combined industrial (communications and embedded systems) and academic (teaching, consultancy, research) experience. PhD in IoT/WSN research with commercialization scope โ bridging deep low-level firmware expertise with full product lifecycle leadership, from board bring-up and driver development through to cloud connectivity, certification, and production.
Hands-on and working knowledge spanning firmware, hardware, cloud, and security.
For more than 25 years I have advanced two careers in parallel โ engineering industrial embedded products in the field while teaching, supervising, and researching in academia. The two tracks continually fed each other: peer-reviewed research and RTOS/wireless experiments matured into commercial IoT products, while hands-on production experience kept my courses and student projects grounded in real engineering. The timeline below maps how these full-time and part-time roles overlapped year to year. Click any role for a short summary, then Show more for the full detail.
Peer-reviewed work in IoT and wireless sensor networks, lightweight security, agricultural sensing, and biomedical instrumentation. A selection of journal articles below; conference and earlier papers follow.
